Cyberbullying

The practice of bullying a person by sending messages or posting social media content of an intimidating, mocking or threatening nature. Children are frequently victims of this type of bullying. It is done using digital technology which takes place on social media messaging platforms and mobile phones. Socially and verbally bullying and physical threats, that uses technology to do harm to others to threaten, embarrass or to target another person with mean behaviour, using rude texts, and tweets. This involves technology to make another person feel bad, ganged up on or to abuse, to target another person. It is done to an individual by someone who is behind the screen causing the problems. This is traditional bullying behaviour that is seen here.

Harassment

This is a type of cyberbully that is done using digital devices. Causing harassment, socially exclusion and impersonation to intentional hurt, threaten or to humiliate another. It is spreading lies, sharing private images without consent, sending hateful messages, creating fake profiles on social media, gaming platforms, message aps, harassment consistently sending abusive, insulting or threatening messages.

Flaming

This is online fights using angry, rude language, often in public forums, groups chats, denigration, spreading rumours, lies or gossip about some or damage their reputation.

Impersonation / Masquerading

Creating fake profiles or hacking accounts to post damaging content, while pretending to be the victim.

Outing and Trickery

Sharing someone’s private personal or intimate information in photos or videos without permission.

Exclusion

Intentionally excluding someone from online groups, chats or gaming activities.

Cyberstalking

Repeated intense and threatening harassment that causes fear for your safety.

Cat-Fishing

Stealing someones identity and photos to create a fake persona for deception or harassment.

Trolling

Intentionally posting provocative or upsetting content to provoke a reaction from another person. These acts can be committed by known individuals or anonymous and are often designed to cause maximum public embarrassment.
