These are beliefts and values that are true to us and we use to guide our life. We all have our own personal values that we believe in and live by. When picking friends I look at their core personal values so that I know what they believe in. It tells me how they will act in a given situation also what kind of person they are. I find doing this allows me to pick friends who have the similar beliefs and values and the relationship is alot healthier and happy. I also know that I will not be violated or abused.
I met a family recently who wanted to me to be “their friend”. This family had already crossed the boundaires and violated me in several ways although they refused to acknowledge it or accept resonsibilty for this. I knew from my core personal values that their core beliefs were very different and infact the opposite to mine. So I declined their offer and decided to keep my distance to set some boundaires so I could not be violated anymore. I knew that I would be the one who was doing all the giving and they would be the ones who would be doing all the taking. That they believed that they can do what ever they want when they want and not care about anyone elses feelings, life or needs no responbility
So What Are Core Personal Values
They are values we set on ourselves in our early years. Your values are what matter most to you. Every decision you make is based on your Value System. Your values are what define you as a person. Everyone’s values are different because every ones life is different. What one person values is different to what another person values. You make your life decisions based on your own value system. Being aware of your value system helps you to make decisions in your life. Because you will choose what does not upset your core values. It is possible to change a value after a big event has happened for you. You pick your friends based on your value system. How you take ownership of a problem is based on your value system.
